My tv currently isnt on HD, and what channel do i go on to play my xbox 360

A HD TV is always in HD mode, but you need an HD input and component or HDMI cables to see HD (or an off-the-air antenna).

Connect your xbox360 via Component cables (R/g/b + w/r) to one of the component inputs and then switch the TV input source appropriately.
